How Do We Adapt to the Rising Sea Levels?

The rise of sea levels is not a new phenomenon and nature has found ways to adapt.  But the rate of  rise today, double the historic rate, may pose an urgent problem to humans around the planet with loss of life and property, as well as salt water entering the fresh water tables and the spread of disease.
