With Congress poised to review President Trump’s proposal to cut the budget of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by 31%, it’s important to look at what the EPA does. One of the coolest EPA programs is the Small Business Innovation Grant (SBIR) program that provides much-needed seed funds to very early stage start-ups.
Listen to Green Connections Radio host Joan Michelson’s conversation with April Richards, EPA SBIR Program Manager about the criteria to apply and a couple of the cool companies they’ve funded. This is one from our archives, at the Clean Tech Open SE Regional Innovation Summit.
You’ll hear:
- What the SBIR program is and funds
- The criteria to meet for funding
- Making packaging from mushrooms – growing them in any shape!
- Helping creative, environmentally-oriented entrepreneurs save our air, climate and water and protect public health.
