How Can You Tell If Your Employees Are Engaged?
“Part of retaining top talent is to make sure they feel they belong and are included in the workplace…There actually is a really big difference between women who plan on leaving their workplace and men who are planning on leaving…For example…(in whether they) feel their opinion is being valued.”
Sarah Cho of SurveyMonkey
“When you speak up at work, do you feel like your opinion is being valued?” That’s one of the 20 questions that SurveyMonkey recently asked in their survey of approximately 10,000 people about belonging and inclusion in the workplace conducted with Paradigm Strategies. It’s also one of the key questions that reflected how men and women experience the workplace differently.
Their findings are fascinating and provide actionable insights for both employers and employees, as Sarah Cho, Director of Research at SurveyMonkey explained in this insightful interview with host Joan Michelson.
You may want to survey your own staff after listening to their discussion about:
- Recommendations for employers to retain top talent.
- How you may be able to identify people who are planning to leave.
- The disconnect between senior management and more junior levels, and why it matters.
- What drives employee engagement.
- How you may be able to tell if an employee has an “attitude problem” or if your company has a culture problem that has broader implications. Is that employee the proverbial “canary in the coalmine”?
And so much more!
